Is pig farming business worth to venture in Kenya now?

Wueh!umeamsha ulcers ..I wish you well.. but be ready kwa chakula..i had this project in the village,,dad was taking care of them, in a week I'd send lots of money for food... we really struggled for martket.. someone had promised to "connect" us with a READY market but disappeared when they were ready 😔

Unfortunately, I can't even explain what happened to them 😞 I was left with 1 out of 20 pigs😔 they died...the money I used on those pigs Was enough to buy a piece of land somewhere ama ka Mazda demio..I gave up..

First things first make sure u are 100%involved
Make sure u have another source of income
No farming is easy especially commercial farming
Be expect anything from profits to massive losses like KQ

It's a good project if you can cut on the cost of production.
If you have a high breed that takes shorter time to mature than the local ones.
A reliable veterinary who guides you thru.

The main challenge to is the quality of feeds, to get the value of your money and also to enhance quick growth.

Market isn't a big challenge since you learn from other farmers how they sell or you can take them to the slaughter house yourself and sell according to the market price.

When I was rearing them, I preferred to connect directly to the slaughter house and avoid brokers.

There is something I have come to realize. In life there are some things that work well to others and also fail badly to others. My advice is if you have a passion and you're ready just go ahead but start small as you learn the process.
